One of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving is being able to cook all sorts of recipes with my family. Apple pie is my favorite desert after eating a filling dinner. With a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream, it is so delicious. Here is a recipe for the best apple pie ever.
2 batches of one minute homemade pie crust
7-8 small granny smith applies, peeled, sliced, and cored
1 stick of butter
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
2. Preheat the oven to 425F.
3. In a medium pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the 3 tbsp of flour and mix well, forming a paste. Add water, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla and mix well. Bring to a boil for 1 minute, and then reduce heat for a minute.
4. Remove from the heat and reserve about 1/3 cup of filling for pie crust. Add the remaining filling to apple and toss well.
5. Pour the apple into a prepared pie crust, mounding slightly. Top with second pie crust, and brush the remaining into 1/3 cup of caramel filling over the crust.
6. Cover the pie loosely with aluminum oil. I lightly spray the foil so it does not stick to the pie. Place the pie on top of a cookie sheet and bake at 425F for approximately 1012 minutes until the crust is brow.
Enjoy!
